After careful review, I purchased an Echo CS-590 with the 20" Pro Echo bar from Saw Suppliers. I've ran a lot of saws, but most were homeowner grade, with the best 2 being a Stihl MS 250, and a Husqvarna 440. A few years ago I purchased an Echo 2511T locally, and put a narrow chain panther bar on it after seeing it done on youtube. I've been extremely impressed with what that little Echo will do. It has quickly become my favorite saw.
I've recently come to the conclusion that I needed a bigger saw. The Husky 440 just won't cut it when you have the bar buried in a red oak. Since I was so impressed with the Echo 2511T, and the extreme value offered by Echo compared to their competitors, I narrowed my search down the the 501P, 590, and 620P. After much research, I decided the 590 would do what I needed, and would save some cash at the same time vs the others. It should be a dependable 60cc saw for a long time.
After seeing my order, my location, and my request for 2 day shipping, Saw Suppliers did something the big chain stores would never do. They wrote a full page note on the packing slip, basically assuming (correctly) that I was in the path of Hurricane Helene. At no request, the voluntarily included 2 FREE bottles of Red Armor oil mix (enough for 5 gallons of fuel when mixed), and also a FREE Oregon dpx chain, explaining that it was designed to hold an edge better in conditions they thought i would be cutting - dirty logs, potential for grounding the bar, etc. I was blown away and had to share this. Fortunately, my area didn't suffer the catastrophic flooding that the area to our immediate west did, however there are still trees down all over the place. Our church has coordinated a lot of saw crews going around and helping with tree cleanup at no cost. The extra chain and fuel mix will definitely go to good use!
I received the CS-590 today and put it to use this evening at a church member's father's house. He had a 20" diameter pine break off and this saw made it look like butter. I can't wait to get it into a big oak or hickory blowdown. I think this saw will do exactly what I wanted it to do easily. I see a 24" or longer bar for occasional use in my future. I feel like between the Echo 2511T, Husky 440, and the Echo CS-590 I'm setup with all the saws I need for a long time.
Thank you Saw Suppliers, for a good product, a great price, and AMAZING customer service. Thank you Jess, for your note on the packing slip. I'll remember Saw Suppliers for my future needs.
